Dont Buy A Brand New Car Until You Read This First!
Once upon a time, buying a brand new car used to be an easy and trouble-free process. But these days, the process is quite involved. First, there's the personal justification element. Is it a good idea to buy a new car? Are there any better alternatives? And so forth.
The next stage is finding the car you want. A lot of car dealers don't make this bit easy, because they want to sell you the car that makes them the most amount of profit! Finally, there is the ugly subject of money. How are you going to pay for it?
Are you thinking about buying a brand new car soon? If so, stop and read this blog post before you commit to any deals! It will show you the right way to go about buying a brand new car. And it will alert you to the potential pitfalls of certain decisions. Ready? Good! Let's get started.
Work out what you can afford
All too often, I see people buying brand new cars that make them live above their means. Owing money isn't something you should feel ashamed to admit. But if you owe more than you earn, you will end up in a sticky situation.
I'd hate to see you buy a car that will make you broke. That's why it is important you sit down and work out how much you can afford to spend on your next pride and joy. The easiest way to do that is to subtract your monthly outgoings from your income.
Choose a model to suit your lifestyle
Buying a sports car might make you walk around with a big smile on your face. But if you have a family to transport on a regular basis, that two-door coupe you bought is now a poor choice!
The car you buy should fit around your lifestyle. If you have a family, a saloon, estate or people carrier is best. Even something like the Dacia Sandero pictured above is a good choice.
I went to look at at Dacia at Carco once. The Sandero is a stylish and capable family car. Of course, not everyone has a family and it might be that a coupe like the BMW 4 Series is a perfect match for you.
Get insurance quotes first
A lot of new car deals included a year's free insurance thrown in for good measure. The trouble is, some people find that they cannot afford the next year's insurance. That is because they didn't know the car they bought costs so much to insure in the first place!
Before you go off and buy a brand new car, get a few insurance quotes first so that you know what to expect.
Leasing vs. buying
When you get a brand new car, the dealer will ask you whether you want to lease or buy it.
Leasing has many advantages over buying. Some of which include lower repayments and lower upfront deposit. But if you want to own the car, buying it rather than leasing it is a better option.
